Tragically the world has lost the man of the moon. Neil Armstrong possibly the most famous Astronaut the world has ever known, or will know in my lifetime has tragically passed away. Neil Armstrong commanded the Apollo 11 spacecraft that landed on the moon July 20, 1969, in doing so captured the hearts and minds of the world, not just America. His first words after becoming the first person to set foot on the surface are etched in history books and the memories of those who heard them in a live broadcast “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”.
Neil Armstrong died following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures, according to his family, in a statement released shortly after. Neil Armstrong, very recently had a bypass operation according to NASA. His family didn’t state where he died; he had lived in suburban Cincinnati. Whilst the body is now departed, his valiant efforts and triumphs will live on with us, history will never let us forget the one-man powerhouse who’s life was dedicated to science, discovery and space.
Rest in Peace now weary traveller, may your new journey lead you to yet more discoveries!
