If there was ever an excuse to visit the Opera Gallery in London, then it is finally here. It is the first UK exhibition of Italian portrait painter Francesca Leone, which consists of 20 new canvases highlighting the virtuosity of the artist.
Francesca, having come from a background in photography and film, she takes a still image and injects life and movement with a paintbrush. Her methods add a drama to the finished paintings, a sense of engagement and a real visual sensation.
It reminds of that moment you pour freezing cold water over yourself, the expressions are priceless, the staggering for breath, trying to equalise with the water temperature and the overall shock make looking at these paintings a far more fulfilling experience.
Be sure to check out the Exhibition when it starts from the 21st September 2012
Location: Opera Gallery London, 134 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2TF
